摘要 <p>A backlight module (20) and a liquid crystal display device using the backlight module (20). The backlight module (20) comprises: a light collector (2), several first optical fibers (3) connected to the light collector (2), several first optical fiber splitters (5) connected to the first optical fibers (3), several second optical fibers (6) connected to the first optical fiber splitters (5), and a light guide plate (7) arranged at one side of the second optical fibers (6). Each first optical fiber splitter (5) comprises a first light incidence opening (52) and several first light emergence openings (54). The first light incidence opening (52) is connected to the first optical fibers (3). The first light emergence openings (54) are connected to the second optical fibers (6). The backlight module (20) and the liquid crystal display device using the backlight module (20) employ sunlight as a backlight source, split the sunlight via the optical fiber splitters (5), allow the sunlight at where light enters the light guide plate (7) to be concentrated and uniformly distributed, and use a reduced amount of the optical fibers (3) of extended length. This not only solves the problem of a firefly effect thus allowing images to be provided with improved color quality, but also reduces the amount of optical fibers used thus reducing costs, and provides a narrowed edge frame for aesthetic appearance.</p>
