A backlight unit according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a light emitting element module which includes a printed circuit board and a plurality of light emitting element packages disposed on the printed circuit board; and a light guide plate which is disposed to face the light emitting element module and contains a plurality of projections spaced apart with a predetermined distance on an opposite side of the light emitting element module. The printed circuit board includes a plurality of concave portions in correspondence to the plurality of projections. The plurality of light emitting element packages is disposed between the plurality of concave portions. A part of the plurality of projections is located inside of the plurality of concave portions. A height of the plurality of projections is higher than a height of the plurality of light emitting element packages. |
