PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor which can surely prevent an arc from contacting a part other than a contact part of a fixed contactor, and can surely extinguish the arc.SOLUTION: The electromagnetic contactor has a contact device 100 comprising a pair of fixed contactors 111 and 112 arranged at a predetermined distance and a movable contactor 130 arranged so as to be in contact with and separated from the pair of fixed contactors. An insulating cover 121 which covers the part other than a contact part 118a contacting the movable contactor 130, and also covers the inner face of an insulating plate 105 that fixes and holds the fixed contactors 111 and 112 is mounted on the pair of fixed contactors 111 and 112.
