PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means of determining an amount of liquid residue in an atmosphere-communicated liquid chamber.SOLUTION: A printer 10 is communicated with the atmosphere and comprises an ink chamber 36 storing an ink, a first ink outflow passage 61 causing an ink to flow out from the ink chamber 36, a second ink outflow passage 62 continued with the first ink outflow passage 61, a recording head 29 discharging the ink supplied through the second ink outflow passage 62, a pressure variation part 47 having a diaphragm rubber 49 translocated in response to the pressure of the inside of the second ink outflow passage 62, a detection part 114 detecting the position of the diaphragm rubber 49 and a control part 90 determining the presence and absence of an ink stored in the ink chamber 36 on the basis of the detected results of the detection part 114. |
