PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dual clutch type automatic transmission having no idler shaft for reversing a backing stage and being downsized.SOLUTION: A dual clutch type automatic transmission comprises a first input shaft 11, a second input shaft 12, a first countershaft 13, a second countershaft 14, a dual clutch 16, and a shift mechanism 50. Among a plurality of first driven gears provided in the first countershaft 13, a lowest speed driven gear 31 being engaged with a lowest speed drive gear 21 in one advancing stage is provided with a backing drive gear 27 in a backing stage so as to rotate integrally with the lowest speed driven gear 31. The backing drive gear 27, and a backing driven gear 37 supported by the second countershaft 14 each have such an external diameter that the first input shaft 11 is close to, but not interfere with, the backing drive gear 27 and the backing driven gear 37 being engaged with each other. |
