PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a malfunction of a cloth presser while reducing a burden of operation of an operating lever.SOLUTION: The sewing machine includes: a sewing machine motor 34; a cloth presser 41; a lifting-up motor 42 of the presser for imparting a rising motion to the cloth presser; an operating lever 11 by which an operator inputs an instruction of a rising motion of the cloth presser; a detection part 12 for detecting an occurrence of a change in an oscillation angle of the operating lever; and a control part 90 for controlling a motion of the lifting-up motor. The control part lifts up the cloth presser to a cloth releasing height by the lifting-up motor of the presser when the detection part detects a change in an oscillation angle of the operating lever while the sewing machine is suspended, and prohibits a rising motion of the cloth presser by the lifting-up motor of the presser or lifts up the cloth presser to a regulation height which requires less amount of rising motion than that of the cloth releasing height when the detection part detects a change in an oscillation angle of the operating lever while the sewing machine is operated. |
