PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular engine start control method capable of eliminating failure, without adding any hardware system, that an engine cannot be started due to no detection of stepping on a brake pedal when the brake pedal is actually stepped on.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a vehicular engine start control method in which when an engine switch 15 is depressed under a state where a stepping on a brake pedal 3 of a vehicle provided with a brake booster (assisting means) 4 for assisting a brake operating force with a negative pressure at an intake pipe is detected by a brake switch 6, a starter 20 is driven to start an engine 1. When the engine switch 15 is depressed under a state where the stepping on the brake pedal is not detected by the brake switch 6 even if operation of stepping on the brake pedal 3 is being carried out, the engine 1 starts cranking without being started to generate the negative pressure at the intake pipe. |
