<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a cover glass capable of improving production efficiency of the cover glass by improving etching rate, further forming the cover glass having high form accuracy even with complicated forms, and to provide the cover glass.SOLUTION: A cover glass is a cover glass made from a glass substrate molded by a down-draw method, etching treated, and chemically reinforced to have a compressive stress layer on a glass main surface. The glass substrate contains SiOof 50 to 70 mass%, AlOof 5 to 20 mass%, NaO of 6 to 30 mass% and LiO of 0 to 8 mass% or less as components. It contains CaO of 0 to 2.6 mass% as needed. The glass substrate has an etching property of 3.7μm/min. or more in an etching environment at 22°C and including hydrogen fluoride with concentration of 10 mass%.</p> |
