METHOD OF SEPARATING STEEL CORD MATERIAL FOR TIRE PROCESSED WITH UNVULCANIZED RUBBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of separating easily a steel cord material processed with an unvulcanized rubber into the rubber part and the steel cord material.SOLUTION: A separation method comprises introducing a rubber-processed uncrushed steel cord 1 and a powder-formed separating agent 3 into a separator 5, separating the steel cord from a rubber part by the interaction between a chain rotation tool 2 and the separating agent, encapsulating fine pieces of the separated rubber part with the separating agent and discharging from an opening 6 of the separator and uses a separating agent lower in density than the steel cord material. The separating agent 3 is selected from polyurethane powder, talc, chalk, sawdust and other powder-formed separating agents capable of adhering to the surface of the separated rubber part and encapsulating fine pieces of the separated rubber part.
