In apparatus for glueing workpieces 7, 8 together at tongue-and-groove joints 11, the workpieces are continuously fed by rollers 1 or conveyers and braking means downstream of the joint intermittently retard the workpiece 8 to produce the gluing pressure. The braking means may comprise rollers 2 or apron conveyers driven at a slower speed than the feed rollers or conveyers through a. clutch 6 which is engaged momentarily when the glue in a joint 11 completes a circuit across slip contacts 9 or may be a brake shoe operated by an electromagnet energized through the contacts 9. |
