PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external additive for toner that has durability against stress from the outside, prevents separation, movement or embedment of the particles of the external additive, has excellent heat-resistant storage stability, suppresses changes in properties such as charge amount, fluidity, and aggregation, and can suppress deterioration of image quality.SOLUTION: Resin particles coated with two or more fine particles (silica-containing material and other than the silica-containing material, for example; one is silica particles subjected to surface hydrophobic treatment, and the other is metal compound particles selected from metal oxide, metal soap, and metal salt other than silicon) selected from particles containing metal compounds different from each other are used as an external additive for toner. |
