<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for maintaining UE capability information both in E-UTRAN, i.e. eNodeBs, and EPC.SOLUTION: An eNodeB 100 sends (80) UE capability information to an EPC, i.e. an MME 130. The MME receives and stores the UE capability information. When a UE 120 transitions from an idle to active state to do an initial attach or when a part of the UE capabilities has changed, the UE sends a message Ma to the eNodeB regarding the update. The eNodeB receives the message and sends it to the MME. The MME sends a response associated with the previously stored UE capability information to the eNodeB. The eNodeB determines if the UE capabilities stored in the MME is up-to-date on the basis of the message sent from the UE and the received response from the MME. If the UE holds updated UE capabilities, the eNodeB requests updated UE capability information from the UE.</p> |
