PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure contact roll and a manufacturing method of such a pressure-contact roll, capable of making a uniform load act on an opposed roll formed in high rigidity.SOLUTION: A pressure-contact roll 1 is a pressure-contact roll pushed against a predetermined opposed roll via a sheet. The pressure-contact roll 1 comprises an inner shaft 2 having an outer surface 2a being a columnar surface and a cylindrical outer tube 3 arranged outside the inner shaft 2 so as to have the same center line L as the inner shaft 2 and joined to the inner shaft 2 in a central part 2c of the inner shaft 2 in a direction parallel to the center line L. The inner shaft 2 is composed of a material having a modulus of longitudinal elasticity of 190 GPa-470 GPa, and the outer tube 3 is composed of a material having a modulus of longitudinal elasticity of 100 GPa-470 GPa. An interval between an outer surface 2a of the inner shaft 2 and an inner surface 3b of the outer tube 3, is set to (an outer diameter×0.10 mm or less) of the outer tube 3.
