PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a highly durable intermediate transfer body usable for a transfer type ink jet recording method and having stable releasability and image holding without any change in surface conditions even when image formation and transfer are repeated, and an image recording method using the intermediate transfer body.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an intermediate transfer body includes an application step of applying a silane coupling agent to the surface of a member having silicone rubber on the surface, and a reaction step of causing the silicone rubber and the silane coupling agent to react by heating the member to which the silane coupling agent has been applied. In the reaction step, a heating temperature A is 373 K or higher to less than 523 K, heating time B is 20 minutes or more to less than 350 minutes, and the heating temperature A and the heating time B satisfy 3,500≤(A-360)×B≤12,000. The image recording method uses the intermediate transfer body. |
