PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a reduction in performance of an image forming apparatus when a second operating system is installed thereto.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a control unit that can execute a first operating system that is operated by using at least a part of hardware resources in the image forming apparatus, and a control program that is operated on the first operating system, and further a second operating system that is operated in parallel with the first operating system by using the hardware resources partially common to the hardware resources used by the first operating system. The control unit can install one or two or more second operating systems to the image forming apparatus, and determines whether or not the installation can be performed according to an influence on the performance of the image forming apparatus when the second operating system is operated on the image forming apparatus. |
