The present invention relates to a current transformer protector. The current transformer protector according to the present invention includes: a harmonic signal generating unit which generates a harmonic signal and applies the harmonic signal to a secondary side of a current transformer; a harmonic signal measuring unit which measures the harmonic signal outputted from the secondary side of the current transformer; a detecting unit which detects the open state of a circuit on the secondary side of the current transformer by comparing the harmonic signal generated from the harmonic signal generating unit with the harmonic signal measured by the harmonic signal measuring unit; and a short circuit unit which shorts the circuit on the secondary side of the current transformer in response to the output of the detecting unit.
