<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of quick image formation and reducing power consumption, a control method of the same, and a program.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 101 acquires, when a fixing unit is heated, a formable number of pages that is the number of pages that can be formed within a time period required to increase a temperature of the fixing unit from a first temperature at which a character image indicating only characters can be formed to a second temperature higher than the first temperature at which an image including images other than the characters can be formed; determines, when a document comprising a plurality of pages is printed, whether or not all the pages, from the top page on which an image is formed to a page of the acquired formable number of pages, contain any character images; and controls, when determining that all the pages through the formable number of pages contain only character images, image forming means to start printing when the temperature of the fixing unit reaches the first temperature.</p> |
