Disclosed are a system and method for managing power that is capable of stably outputting power. The system for managing power according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: a power production device for producing power using new renewable energy to be supplied to a power system; a battery energy storage system (BESS) for charging the power supplied from the power system or discharging the charged power to the power system; and a BESS controller for measuring, in real time, the power generation amount of the power production device for producing power using new renewable energy, comparing a power command value for output power of the power system and the measured power generation amount to determine whether the power is charged/discharged by the BESS and controlling an operation of the BESS depending on whether the power is charged/discharged. |
