摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of achieving low cost and size reduction without causing deterioration in synchronization detection accuracy. SOLUTION: An optical scanner comprises: two light sources; two optical systems before a polarizer; a polygon mirror 2104A; two scanning optical systems; one synchronization detection system; and the like. The two light sources and an optical receiver 15 are mounted on the same circuit board 11. One of two luminous fluxes polarized by the polygon mirror 2104A is folded back by a folding mirror 2106a, of which an optical path length from the polygon mirror 2104A is shortest. Other luminous flux folded back in the vicinity of an end portion, which is farther from the two light sources at the folding mirror 2106a, is defined as a synchronization luminous flux, and the synchronization luminous flux is reflected in a direction toward the optical receiver 15 by a synchronization detection mirror 13. Hereby the number of substrates can be reduced without increasing the size of the circuit board 11. In addition, the degree of freedom associated with an optical path layout of the synchronization luminous flux can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
