The cladding panel 1 is suitable for an interior of a living space and adapted for use in a heating system such as under-floor or radiant wall/ceiling heating. The panel comprises a primary layer 3 having a thermal conductivity of less than 2 W/mK and a thermal bridge having a thermal conductivity at least ten times greater than the primary layer. The thermal bridge comprises an array of elements uniformly distributed and embedded in the primary layer. Each of the elements is constructed of continuous material and penetrates the primary layer at right angles to a plane of the primary layer. The panel may include a heat collecting layer 5 and a heat diffusing layer 4 made of aluminium and a paper layer 6. The thermal bridge may comprise a honeycomb 2 but could alternatively comprise aluminium wire rectangular spirals (7, figures 2a-b), rectangular corrugated mesh (8, figures 3a-b), S-shaped strips (figure 4d), or rectangular loops (15, figure 5d). A cladding panel where the primary layer comprises tufted carpet backing is also claimed. |
