A device for controlling dispensing of items, particularly items of clothing such as medical scubs, includes a frame and at least one drawer 16 slidably mounted to the frame. Each the drawers 16 has a plurality of storage sections (21, fig.3) and a plurality of access panels (3, fig.5) associated with one of the storage sections (21, fig.3). A control unit 36 is operable to control the movement of each of the access panels (3, fig.5) relative to the associated drawer 16 such as by controlling a latch (5, fig.5) so that, when the drawer 16 is opened the access panel (3, fig.5) is either in a first mode which prevents access to its associated storage section (21, fig 3) or in a second mode which allows access to its associate storage section (21, fig 3). An auxiliary device 32 may also be provided having a plurality of drawers and storage sections, wherein the control unit 36 also controls the auxiliary device 32. |
