The present invention provides an image processing circuit, an image processing method, and a display device for reducing image deterioration in the outline of an image, a texture area, or a gradation area when magnifying and converting image data of low resolution into image data of high resolution. The image processing circuit according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a differentiation unit which classifies input image data into a first image area of the gradation area, a second image area of a non-gradation area, and a third image area of an intermediate area; a first pixel interpolation unit which generates a first output pixel value which is interpolated by applying a theoretically obtained coefficient to a pixel value of the input image data; a second pixel interpolation unit which generates a second output pixel value which is interpolated by applying a coefficient which is obtained by a study; and a mixing unit which outputs the first output pixel value or the second output pixel value depending on a result which is classified by the differentiation unit and outputs a third output pixel value which is obtained by calculating and processing the first output pixel value and the second output pixel value in case of classifying the input image data into the third image area. |
