Provided is a mobility operation support method for a terminal in a wireless communication system. The method includes the steps of: receiving a mobility state estimation (MSE) control information including information of the MSE from a network; performing a mobility operation when mobility conditions are satisfied; updating a mobility counter based on the MSE control information; estimating the mobility status of the terminal based on the updated mobility counter; and scaling a mobility parameter based on the estimated mobility status.
