Inlet valve members 10 (Fig. 1) and exhaust valve 15 of a road vehicle fluid suspension level control valve are coaxially disposed and open in opposite directions under the action of an operating stem 23. The valve 15 has a rubber ring 16 and permits flow from ports 19, 20 (leading to the fluid springs) via an annular passage 12 to an exhaust port 14. The inlet valve controls flow from a connection 4 to a source of fluid pressure. In Fig. 2, the valve is formed as part of the piston rod 29 and cylinder 28 of a hydro-pneumatic suspension unit. On relative telescoping movement of the parts, a rod 35 lifts the inlet valve 33. On extension, a flange 36 on the rod 35, lifts the exhaust valve 34.</p> |
