A system for securing a door using a side wall 24 adjacent the door 22, for example the side wall of a garage fitted with an up-and-over door. The system comprises a bolt 2; a sleeve 4 for installation in the side wall and at least partially defining a passage through the side wall through which the bolt protrudes; and retaining means 14 for attachment to the side wall adjacent the sleeve. The bolt comprises a first portion 8 for engaging the retaining member 14 and a second portion 10, the second portion of the bolt extending through the sleeve and protruding from the wall to be adjacent the door and obstructing movement of the door 22. The first portion of the bolt may comprise a hasp for passing over a loop or staple of the retaining means and locked in place using a padlock. |
