The electrical connector (1) has an insulating body (3), which is releasable by a tool from the plug side (7) of a housing section (5). A locking device (10) and a receiving recess (12) are separated in the circumferential direction of housing section. The locking device has two shell-shaped locking units (4), which are separated from one another. The receiving recess has a corresponding number of locking unit receptacles (11) for the locking units. The locking units are for the locking unit receptacles and each has a support element for the insulating body, which is sticking out laterally. An independent claim is also included for an unlocking tool for the insulating body of an electrical connector.
