<p>The invention relates to a method for producing cast iron, in particular cast iron having vermicular graphite, comprising the following steps: producing a melt; determining a sulfur content of the melt and determining a normal temperature-related oxygen activity of the melt; separating two parts of the melt as first and second test melts; and determining at least two points of the respective cooling curve of the test melts and adding an amount of inoculant in accordance with the determined points on the cooling curves by means of an inoculant formula. Said method is intended to improve the reliability of the formation of GJV from the melt. In particular, the invention thus specifies a correspondingly improved production method.</p> |
