A system for displaying video to passengers in a vehicle 6 travelling along a path 1, e.g. in a railway tunnel, comprises a sensor arrangement 4 to determine the speed of the vehicle, a plurality of display apparatuses 30 arranged along the path and a control arrangement 5. Each display apparatus is controlled to generate an apparently stationary video by persistence of vision. Furthermore, the display apparatuses are controlled to omit to display at least one frame of the video when the speed of the vehicle is less than a predefined speed for a period of time and/or to add or repeat at least one frame of the video when the speed is greater than the predefined speed for a period of time. The frame rate of the video is dependent on the speed of the vehicle and omitting or adding frames maintains the overall length of time the video is displayed. The display apparatuses may be irregularly spaced. If the sensors determine that the vehicle is stationary or near stationary, each display apparatus may be controlled to display a video. |
