PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display software corresponding to keywords as a list including even software which is not installed in a local device. SOLUTION: The software selection support program allows a control device 20 to configure a PC state acquisition part (environmental variable detecting function) 302 which detects change in environment of a PC (the local device); an external storage media retrieval part (software information acquiring function) 304 which acquires software information from the external storage media (storage means) and a Web data retrieval part (software information acquiring function) 305 which acquires software information from a Web server (storage means); and a database update control part 306A (database update control function) which updates a database 308 using the acquired software information.
