The connector (10) has an insulating sheath having certain thickness around conductive cores. Two electrical cables are provided with the conductive cores in predetermined sections. Markings (60) are fixed at predetermined sections of the conductive cores of the cables. The markings and regions (70) represent the insulating sheath of the cables with certain thickness ranges. The markings are formed by surfaces (38) of stoppers with an orifice (19). A hearth (15) delimits the orifice closed by the stoppers, which are made of plastic material. An independent claim is also included for a method for connecting two electrical cables to one another.
