A belt conveyor that is capable of reducing the frictional resistance received by a conveyor belt is provided. A belt conveyor (1) is provided with a circulatable endless conveyor belt (2) for conveying workpieces (W) in a conveying direction. The belt conveyor (1) is also provided with a conveyor body (3), which has belt receiving end portions (11,12) that are in sliding contact with the conveyor belt (2).
