A method for recognizing a location of a vehicle according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a GPS signal including location information of a vehicle; acquiring image data through a camera; comparing the acquired image data with the prestored image data; identifying location and driving direction information of the vehicle based on the location information of the matched image data if there is the image data which is matched with the acquired image data among the prestored image data; and determining a current location and a driving direction of the vehicle based on the location information included in the GPS signal and the identified location and driving direction information of the vehicle, thereby more exactly recognizing the driving direction of the vehicle as well as the location of the vehicle based on the GPS signal and the image data. |
