The tunnel 1 comprises: two ends which are longitudinally spaced from each other when the tunnel is in an erect configuration; a flexible material defining the tunnel; a number of first resilient members 2 which extend around at least part of the tunnel passageway and second resilient members 6 connected to the material and extend longitudinally along the passageway and separate a pair of the first resilient members longitudinally. The tunnel is collapsed when two adjacent first resilient members are rotated relative to each other and cause the second resilient member to deform and draw the two first resilient members together, while twisting the flexible material. The tunnel may comprise several longitudinal sections, each comprising a pair of first resilient members and there may be two or more second resilient members, where each section is independently collapsible of adjacent sections. Also claimed is a method for collapsing a tunnel structure. |
