PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting method of a reflecting plate on a projector which allows a new reflecting plate to be easily assembled inside a lamp shade of the projector, and can enhance projection performance such as illuminance with advantage in cost. SOLUTION: The reflecting plate 2 is originally larger in size than a base-end opening part 4a of the lamp shade 4 and can be reduced, so that it can be inserted into the inside 4b of the lamp shade 4 through the base-end opening part 4a of the lamp shade 4 by being reduced. After connection of a light source cylinder 3 and the lamp shade 4 is released to open the base-end opening part 4a of the lamp shade 4 with the use of the reflecting plate 2(9), the reflecting plate 2(9) in a reduced state is inserted into an inner space 4b through the base-end opening part 4a of the lamp shade 4, and after that, the reflecting plate 2(9) is returned to an original size to place it at a given position inside the lamp shade 4.
