A display device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to harden and form an over-coat layer and a column spacer together, thereby reducing time required for a process and reducing a defect rate of a process. Color filters(11) are formed in an active display area of a first substrate(100) where an image is displayed. A preliminary over-coat layer is in the first substrate. A preliminary column spacer is on the preliminary over-coat layer. By hardening the preliminary over-coat layer and the preliminary column spacer, an over-coat layer(130) and a column spacer(140) are formed together. A display device is on a second substrate(200). The first and second substrates are coupled by using a sealing member(400). |
