The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a thin polarizer, and a thin polarizer and a polarizing plate manufactured thereby, the method for manufacturing a thin polarizer comprising the steps of: forming a stacked film structure by adhering an unstretched polyvinyl alcohol film, having a thickness of 10 to 60 μm, on at least one surface of an unstretched base film by means of the attractive force therebetween; and elongating the stacked film structure so that the thickness of the polyvinyl alcohol film becomes 10 μm or less.
