864,922. Recording-apparatus. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Oct. 16, 1957 [Oct. 19, 1956], No. 32328/57. Class 106 (4). Recording-apparatus is adapted to receive and to advance past a stylus 3 or a row of stationary electrodes cards 5 which have the dimensions of conventional punched cards, and is so constructed that the row of electrodes extends transversely of the advancing card or that the recording stylus moves along a straight line transversely of the advancing card and that the range of the recording movement of the stylus or the length of the row of electrodes corresponds to the length of the co-ordinate of the card transversely of the advancing direction. The card 5 moves outwards through a slot 4 at constant speed and at the end of each recording period drops into a receiver while a new card is automatically detached from a stack in the apparatus and driven forward during the next period. The measuring instrument may have a moving-coil, moving-iron or bi-metal system or be of impulse type in which a step motor causes recording in steps corresponding to the line spaces of a conventional punched card. Recording may be by pen or stylus, a metal-paper process or magnetic. The recorded curves may be represented by holes punched by hand to enable the data to be analysed in punched-card machines. |
