An apparatus for processing a medium case according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a cassette body having a plurality of medium cases to store a medium therein; a sensor reaction part provided at one side of each medium case; a sensor positioned in opposition to the sensor reaction part in the cassette body and reacting with the sensor reaction part to sense the medium case received in the cassette body; a press part provided in the cassette body movably in a longitudinal direction to make contact with a rear portion of the medium case to push the medium case forward; determination member for determining the number of medium cases detected by the sensor; and a flow sensor provided in the cassette body to detect the discharge of the medium case. According to the apparatus for processing the medium case of the present invention and the method of driving the same, the structure of carrying out media such as a gold bar or a casino chip is provided to reduce manpower and time to issue the media and improve the utilization of the media in a market employing the medial. In addition, the sensor according to the present invention detects the reaction by the sensor reaction part provided for each medium case in real time to detect the number of medium cases received in the cassette body. |
