A mobile terminal having a touch screen and a method for offering an analog dial lock are provided to offer a user interface for allowing a user to set up the analog dial lock by touching the touch screen. A touch screen(12) displays an analog dial lock, and receives touch inputs on each number of a password which is used for the lock function of a mobile terminal from a user. A controller(14) operates a specific part of the analog dial lock correspondingly to the touch-inputted number, and then determines whether the inputted password is the same as a registered password. A locus having the start and end points on the touch screen is formed by the touch inputs. The controller controls a specific portion of the analog dial lock so as to be rotated or moved from the start point of the locus to end point. |
