The invention comprises acylateda : a -dioxy-diamino-anthraquinones which consist of a single anthraquinone nucleus in which each of the outer six-membered rings contains one of the amino groups in ortho- or para-position to one of the hydroxyl groups, and in which one of the amino groups is acylated by the formyl group or the carbomethoxy group, and the other amino group is acylated by an acetyl, chlorocetyl or carbomethoxy group. The dyestuffs are made by acylating the appropriate a : a -dioxy-diamino-anthraquinones using acetic or chloracetic chlorides or anhydrides, formic acid or chlorocarbonic acid methyl ester. The dyestuffs dye or print polyester fibres red to blue shades.
