INTEROPERABLE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC BOOK DRM BASED ON IDPF EPUB STANDARD

The present invention relates to a system for interconverting electronic book DRM based on the EPUB standard of IDPF and a method thereof. The present invention is provided to interconvert system information of an electronic book which follows the EPUB standard of the IDPF and is not interconverted in an electronic book DRM client and open the electronic book, thereby increasing the compatibility of the electronic book DRM client. The present invention is provided to open a heterogeneous electronic book by communicating an electronic book DRM server which supports DRM for electronic book DRM in which the format of an authentication key exchange method and the format of authority information are different, thereby enabling the user to open an electronic book without an additional authentication process or control of the user and increasing convenience of opening the electronic book. The present invention is provided to generate and transmit system information by sharing an authentication key and the format of the authority information among the electronic book DRM servers for the electronic book DRM in which the format of the authentication key exchange method and the format of the authority information are different, thereby improving versatility of opening the electronic book.
