The present invention relates to a rudder installed at the stern of a ship, comprising an upper rudder coupled to a rudder shaft installed at the stern; a lower rudder which is coupled to the bottom of the upper rudder and through which the rudder shaft pass to independently rotate from the upper rudder; and a driving unit which is buried in the lower rudder to couple the rudder shaft to the lower rudder and which provides rotatory power for the lower rudder to allow the lower rudder to horizontally rotate on the rudder shaft at a predetermined angle. Therefore, the twist rudder with separately operated top and bottom improves lifting performance and efficiency by maintaining angles appropriate to the characteristics of the water flow, delivered from a propeller. |
