The present invention relates to a method for changing partial data of memory controller comprising a step for receiving a request for changing the partial data from a host; a step for detecting errors for the partial data read from the memory device by using an error detection code (EDC); a step for checking the difference between new data (Dnew) offered from the host and the partial data (Dold) read from the memory device when the errors are not generated in the partial data read from the memory device and calculating a new parity (Pnew) by using the data difference (Ddif) and an existing parity (Pold) read from the memory device; and a step for storing the new data and the new parity in the memory device. The present invention is provided to early detect and correct the errors when the errors are generated in the partial data, thereby preventing the generation of the errors in the new parity.
