Disclosed is an air-conditioning apparatus for a vehicle including an air-conditioning housing and a mode door. The air-conditioning housing is provided with an outlet portion for discharging air-conditioned air, and the outlet portion is formed with a defrost vent, a main vent, a pair of floor vents and a rear seat vent in an orderly fashion from the front to the rear. The pair of floor vents is formed at both sides in the rear of the main vent, and the rear seat vent is formed between the floor vents. The mode door is formed in a panel shape and slid at the outlet portion of the air-conditioning housing. A front portion of the mode door is provided with a front opening of a line shape, and a rear portion is provided with a pair of main openings spaced apart from each other at both sides. A distal opening is formed at a rear portion of the space between the main openings.
