The invention relates to electrostatic precipitators and can be used to clean flue gases from industrial and solid and liquid particles. It can be used in power generation, cement, metallurgy, coking branches of industry. A dual-zone electrostatic precipitator comprises ionization and settling chambers. Discharge electrodes of the ionization chamber are made in the form of 0.5- thick multitip ribbons with a distance of 5- between the tips. The tips are turned relative to the ribbon plane at an angle of less than 30°. Grounded electrodes of the ionization chamber are made in the form of a wire with diameter of not less than . Such choice of the discharge electrodes provides maximum specific current of a corona discharge current and thus specific power transmitted to the electrostatic precipitator.
