A handover support method for supporting a handover for a multimode mobile node in a PMIP domain and a mobile node thereof are provided to perform vertical and horizontal handovers by adding a handover manager daemon to a user space of a mobile node. A handover manager includes the followings. A type decider(141) receives a network access trigger message, and recognizes a first state value for a currently-accessed network. In addition, the type decider judges a handover type by comparing the first state value with a prestored previous state value. A message generator(142) generates a message that requests PBU(Proxy Binding Update) according to the judged handover type. |
