The method involves receiving information relative to actual conditions regarding an environment and a runway (15), and determining a maximum shift (Dmax) corresponding to the maximum longitudinal shift along the runway. A shift point (P0f) is shifted from a threshold of the runway along a downstream direction. An adaptive aiming point (P1f) is calculated from the shift point.
