The present invention provides a flexible band offset (FBO) apparatus and an FBO method, which perform sample adaptive offset (SAO) in an encoder and a decoder according to a high efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard, and a coding apparatus configured accordingly. The number of band offset (BO) modes and the number of necessary offsets are reduced. According to the present invention, simpler coding can be performed, temporary buffer size requirements can be reduced, and a smaller performance gain than an existing SAO technique of an HEVC test model HM5 can be obtained. |
