The method involves determining a setpoint torque (Cc) corresponding to a control of a driver's acceleration including a maximum torque (Cmax). A climate variable relative to weather conditions of a vehicle environment is determined. A preventive approval torque (Cp) is determined from filtering the setpoint torque adapted to a zone (Z) of driving passage of an engine. A gradient (Grad-lim) of the approval torque is limited according to the variable between a preset time (t2) of the zone and time (t3) in which the approval torque approximately reaches the maximum torque of the setpoint torque.
