[Solution] The present invention has a configuration having: a light source control means (21, 22) that causes a light source unit to be lit a predetermined number of times that is at least 2 at a predetermined timing at which the acquisition of light by a light detection unit is possible through the open end of a can body (W) moving along a conveyance pathway (W); a detection signal integration means (23) that integrates signal values that are on the basis of the detection signal output from the light detection unit (15) stemming from each lighting of the light source unit (10); and a pass/fail determination means (24) that performs a pass/fail determination of the can body on the basis of the integrated value obtained from the detection signal integration means (23).
